Prabowo, Modi witness BrahMos missile purchase deal in Jakarta
The agreement was among 16 Indonesia-India deals, including air-to-air missile cooperation and space research ties.
President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the signing of a contract for the procurement of the BrahMos missile system at Istana Merdeka in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/7). The contract was signed between BrahMos Aerospace and the Kementerian Pertahanan RI as part of Modi’s state visit to Indonesia. At the same event, Bharat Dynamics Limited and Republikorp also signed an agreement for the procurement of air-to-air missiles. The two defense documents were part of 16 total agreements reached by Indonesia and India at this bilateral meeting, which also covered energy, health, culture, technology, and space cooperation between BRIN and Indian Space Research Organisation.
