TNI AD military police soldier killed by ricochet bullet in Bireuen drug raid
One suspected suspect, believed to be a Brimob member, has been arrested, while three others remain at large.
A TNI AD Military Police soldier, Pratu Galuh Nugraha, died while helping police pursue four suspected drug traffickers in front of the Juli gas station in Cot Meurak village, Bireuen Regency, Aceh, on Saturday (25/7). Polda Aceh said the operation first arrested one person believed to be a Brimob member. The other three suspects then fled. During the pursuit, officers fired toward the suspects, but a ricochet bullet struck Galuh, who was assisting in the arrest. He was taken to a hospital before being pronounced dead. Polda Aceh public relations chief Joko Krisdiyanto said Aceh Police Chief Irjen Pol Ruddi Setiawan had coordinated with Pangdam Iskandar Muda to convey the initial facts of the incident.
