Netanyahu reaches Washington for July 28 talks with Trump

What’s next: Iran, Gaza and a June Israel-Lebanon framework deal are expected to dominate the White House meeting.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Washington ahead of a July 28 White House meeting with President Donald Trump, their first in-person talks since the Iran war began. The visit comes after months of visible friction between the two leaders, including clashes during April ceasefire talks, though both have since played down the rift. Discussions are expected to center on Iran, Gaza and the implementation of a US-sponsored framework agreement signed by Israel and Lebanon in June. The meeting will be their eighth since Trump returned to office in 2025 and is likely to signal continued US-Israel coordination as Washington also pushes for wider regional normalization.
