East Jakarta District Court ends Jokowi diploma case after Tifa plea

The East Jakarta District Court halted the trial over alleged defamation and insult tied to claims about the authenticity of the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th president, Joko Widodo, after the panel of judges accepted Tifauzia Tyassuma’s plea on Thursday, 23 July 2026. Presiding judge Christina Endarwati said the public prosecutor’s indictment was null and void, so the case did not proceed to witness, expert or defendant examinations. The panel also ordered the case file, indictment and all evidence under the name Tifa Fauziah Tyassuma returned to the public prosecutor. All court costs were charged to the state. After the interlocutory ruling session at PN Jakarta Timur, Dokter Tifa said she would continue to fight for the truth in the dispute over the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma.
