Prabowo acknowledges police and military role in agriculture in Gorontalo

President Prabowo Subianto acknowledged that police and military personnel are now helping manage agriculture and food, beyond their main roles in security and defense. He made the remarks at the peak of the XVII National Farmers and Fishermen Week 2026 in Gorontalo Regency on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. In his speech, Prabowo said the involvement of security forces could be seen even in rice fields and plantations. He cited the Navy planting soybeans and the Air Force planting sugarcane. The government has recently involved the TNI and Polri in food security programs, including new rice field development and the free nutritious meals project. At the forum, Prabowo also praised TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto and National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo for their support for the food sector.
