Singapore minister warns after woman is misidentified in Faishal case

Singapore's acting minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, Zaqy Mohamad, urged the public to stop spreading unverified claims after a woman was wrongly identified in the case involving former minister Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim. Zaqy said the woman had been exposed to false accusations and abusive comments after her name and photo circulated online. The woman, fitness instructor Rasidah Caudal, said she had been wrongly linked to Faishal's resignation and that her only contact with him was at two fitness events at Kampung Ubi Community Centre. She said she had no personal meetings with him and warned that she could take legal action against people spreading the claims. Faishal resigned from politics on July 20 over inappropriate interactions with an unidentified woman.
