Singer D4vd ordered to stand trial in killing of 14-year-old girl

A Los Angeles judge found enough evidence Monday to send singer D4vd to trial on charges tied to the killing of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Judge Charlaine Olmedo ruled prosecutors met the probable-cause standard on counts including murder, sexual abuse of a child under 14 and mutilation of a body. Prosecutors allege D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, stabbed the girl after she arrived at his Hollywood home in an Uber he arranged on April 23, 2025, then sent later messages to her phone as cover. Defense lawyers argued no witness or camera placed her inside the home or Burke there at the time prosecutors allege she was killed, and pointed to messages in which she threatened him and had misstated her age.
