US, Ukraine advance drone pact with plan for US factory
What's new: Kyiv expects Ukrainian-made long-range drone technology to feed Pentagon procurement under a joint production push.
Ukraine and the United States are moving toward a joint drone-production partnership that would include a factory in the US using Ukrainian technology, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said in an interview broadcast Friday. Zelenskiy said the two sides want to build on an initial drones agreement and set up production lines in the United States. Reuters reported earlier that Ukraine had agreed to export drones to the US for the Pentagon's Drone Dominance program, with six Ukrainian companies cleared to ship about 100 drones each. Zelenskiy said Ukrainian drones can now operate at ranges of more than 3,000 kilometers. A source familiar with the matter said details were still being worked out before Zelenskiy's planned talks with President Donald Trump in Washington on Tuesday.
