Kemendag revises import rules, LS may be issued after PI expires
The rule also tightens validation so the PI number on the Surveyor Report must match the one used in the import declaration.
The Ministry of Trade issued Permendag Number 18 Year 2026, amending import policy to smooth the flow of goods, speed up licensing services, and strengthen electronic system integration. The rule, promulgated on June 4, 2026, was socialized on June 15 to businesses, associations, surveyors, and related ministries and agencies. One major change allows the Surveyor Report to be issued after the validity period of the Import Approval expires, as long as the importer has met substantive requirements, including technical verification or tracing of imports. The rule also tightens validation so that the Import Approval number on the Surveyor Report matches the number used in the Import Declaration.
