Fuel supply to Medan gas stations gradually normalizes after faster distribution

Pertamina added 40 tanker trucks, 34 crews and 16 Bekangdam personnel as fuel consumption rose 5-10 percent.

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga said fuel distribution to gas stations in Medan and surrounding areas is starting to return to normal after the company accelerated deliveries amid a surge in demand. Consumption in the region rose about 5-10 percent from the daily average as mobility increased with schools and offices back in operation. To catch up on supplies, Pertamina added 10 operational tanker trucks, 30 spot charter tanker trucks, 34 Awak Mobil Tangki from the nearest fuel terminal, and 16 Bekangdam personnel. Operations at Fuel Terminal Medan and a number of gas stations were also optimized around the clock. On 14 July 2026, distribution realisation reached 104 percent of the daily target with 149 tanker trucks in operation, or 115 percent of the plan. The company also tightened distribution oversight and urged residents to report suspected misuse of subsidized fuel through 135.
